I should be sleeping right now, but I'm not. Instead I'm sitting here on a makeshift bed wearing dark green scrubs that the hospital was nice enough to lend me.Eden is sick. Not just kind of sick... but really sick. She has a pretty good kidney infection. And by good I mean not good. At first I thought I was totally okay and with it, but now as I'm writing this I'm finding I'm really not. I'm not so much scared... just tired of her not feeling well.
Long story short, we brought her to the hospital they are running some tests on her blood. All the levels that should be normal are not. Her blood shows a rather high bacterail infection, most likely in her kidneys.
Speaking of kidneys, Abrie has informed me that she has four of them. The two that are inside her body and the other two that are located between her thighs and calfs... "because, get it Mom, they're KID-KNEES!". Watch out folks we've got a comedian on our hands.
We're doing good. My coping mechinism is changing subjects and making jokes (see above paragraph). So as you can tell I'm managing just fine. I've been staying at the hospital and family and friends have been helping out with the kids.
But Eden has seen better days. She keeps spiking a fever and is not able to keep meds down orally. She's also been throwing up liquids as well. She's decided that she is doesn't want to eat anymore... just a few ounces here and a few ounces there. We will be doing more tests tomorrow to make sure her body is fighting off the infection. We are also waiting to make sure that the infection has not spread into her blood. For now she's on IV fluids and antibiotics and they are watching her closely. So we will see what tomorrow brings. And I know this sounds so very cliche, but perhaps, if you feel so inclined, shout out a little prayer for her... a reverant shout, that is.

Thinking about you! She is strong and will do amazing and be better in no time! :-)
I am so sorry to hear that you are having to deal with that. She is such a cutie and of course we will keep her in our prayers.
Like you said, it is hard to watch your baby "not being herself". I hope that they can fix her quick and I "shouted" a prayer for you and her this morning :) I know you have tons of help but let us know if there is anything else you need.
oh no. i'm so sorry. hope she has a speedy recovery. hang in there, you guys are in our prayers.
Poor baby and mama! It is the WORST when your kids are sick! I will be praying for little Eden. Hope she feels better soon! Hang in there Ginnie.
I'm so sorry! I can't even imagine...I get stressed when my kids have a low fever, let alone all that poor Eden is going through. Prayers will be sent your way. You are a great mom! Hang in there!!
Dang! Hope little Eden is feeling better soon!
Oh this brings back such memories of having Kate admitted to Bryn Mahr for dehydration. They have to stay in a little cage and get poked to get whatever kind of IV liquid their body will handle. Not fun times...I hope the doctors can figure out what is making her so sick. We are thinking of you and hope things start looking up soon!
I'm so sorry! You and your gorgeous Eden are in my prayers. Xoxo
Reverent shouts at our house on a regular basis. Love you two.
xoxoxoxoxo
Sorry I'm not closer so I could help out in some way. Not that you would want my cooking or for me to watch your children. But I would gladly donate my mother's time to you. She's a great help. Just give me the word and she will be on her way to your doorstep. She is also really good at cleaning. Something to think about.
I am so sorry. Nothing scarier in the world than a sick baby! Hugs and prayers headed your way. Hang in there...
So sorry Ginnie. SO sorry! For sure we'll keep the sweetie in our prayers. No fun at all. I hope she gets better soon. She is so darling, it's sad to see little tears in those eyes:(.
Hugs
Hope she is doing better today and hope you were able to get a little sleep.
Well Dangit!! Hope she feels better soon. She is rockin' that chic little hospital gown though.
You'll both be in tonight's shout out.
I am so sorry! I hope she starts feeling well soon! that is hard on everyone! ):
Ugh! I am so sorry for you both. I know you don't know me but you will be in my thoughts and "shout outs". I hope the best for you!!
Oh I'm so sorry, it is always hard and scary to have a lil one in the hospital. We spent june at Primary's and I am positive you are in great hands. I always struggled when my baby (now 9) spit out the meds orally and refused to eat. All I can say is it will get better and if it doesen't she could always get meds through an iv but that means lots more hospital time :(. Sending our love and prayers, they work!!! Hang in there. I'm assuming you are at primarys? If you are it always helped me to walk to University Hospital and eat there, they have some delicious food plus it feels like you kinda left the hospital :) Love ya
awww... poor little Eden. I am so sorry to hear that she is not feeling well. --Prayers being sent from Texas.
Poor thing. Fell better little Eden, and hang in there Ginnie. I will keep you guys in my thoughts. There is nothing more frightening then when your baby is sick.
Hey Johnson family...you and Eden are definitely in our prayers. She's too tiny to be so sick. But better days are just ahead. Hang in there and you'll all be home soon!
Love Jodeen
