This can be one of my favorite phrases if executed properly, e.g. :
I casually stroll to the garbage to throw something away and notice that the moment I open the lid crusty bits of stale, old cheerios start spilling out and banana peels that are a lovely shade of brown are trying to make a quick escape to the floor. That's when I turn to my husband and ever so lovingly say, "So, ummmm, honey I thought you were going to take the garbage out?"
That's when Nate in return and ever so lovingly says, "Oh, ya I forgot. I was totally going to do that." (except Nate wouldn't use the word TOTALLY. I threw that in there for dramatic effect)
Then I respond in my best Stepford wife voice by saying, "You know Nate, the road to 'H' is paved with good intentions" (I usually give him the censored version because I'm concerned about his eternal salvation. I want to make sure one of us makes it to heaven).
"It is not good enough for things to be planned - they still have to be done; for the intention to become a reality, energy has to be launched into operation."
I'm pretty sure I didn't sign up for this.
Is it too late to get a refund?

Ahh Ginnie. My road is being paved pretty quickly too. We will go together. :)
LOVED the censored "h" for his eternal salvation! LOL
My road was paved a few year ago.. now I am planting flowers all along the sides. Wanna meet for a diet coke?
you took the words right out of my mouth!
stupid intentions anyways.
OH Ginnie. You are so funny. I think I'll use that one, uncensored of course! JK. Okay, not kidding. HOwever, I'm sure it could be thrown back at me more than I could throw it out.
I don't think you are alone with this one. We are probably all paving those roads right along with you. I personally struggle with this one when it comes to studying for my exams. I am a procrastinator all the way around, so hopefully I get a long lifetime to allow my path to take a u-turn.
I have come to terms with the road to hell, I try to take another route but my mothering skills keep taking me back to that direction. So I have decided to take a 12 step program and I now can be O.k with my choices on not following through with my intentions The great thing about it is I have lot's of friendly people that I meet everyday on my route to hell.....I like new friends.
