After a whole day of travel we finally made it to our destination. We braved the 4 hour flight to New York with a 4 hour layover. Then hopped on an 11 hour plane ride to Egypt. Somewhere in between those 11 hours my ankles swelled up to the size of tree trunks and the meaning of cankles became very real to me.
So far we have seen the pyramids, taken a boat ride on the Nile river, been harrassed by Egyptian men (apparently I'm a ten camel wife and with the bun in the oven I'm worth even more, but having braces knocks off a camel or two), walked through the Valley of the kings, walked like an Egyption, done some belly dancing, and YES, ridden a camel... it was not a pretty site.
We have lots more to see and do here and I'm just trying to soak it all in... well, that and the sun. Perhaps you should remind me to wear sun screen tomorrow....

I had forgotten about the vest but when I saw Nate wearing it, I laughed out loud and will repeat the process when I show Jared. Glad you're having a great time!

What an awesome experience. And after living in Philly for 4 years, the man still wears a NY cap. Wasn't swayed a bit! Congrats on #4.

Nate,
What the crap are you wearing that piece of hud hat for? Let me know when you've returned from the dark side.

That is so great, I am so happy for you guys. It almost seems like it can't be real that you can go to a place like that... Wow!!! You have fun!
oh, brings back fond memories when I was there over 10 years ago. can't wait to see and hear more about your awesome trip- did ya run into my mom over there? I think you guys crossed paths at some point. tootles.
Wow, wow, wow!! how amazing. That is fantastic that you got to take that trip. I can imagine just how big your ankles were. I had an eleven hour plain ride once and my ankle swelled a lot and I wasn't even pregnant.
I hope you are doing well with the pregnancy. can't wait to see the new babe.
