... and now it's his turn

He started kindergarten this week.
Kaleb, my little man.
It just didn't' seem right sending him off to school.

I dropped him off at the door,
gave him a squeeze,
pinched his little bum,
and told him I loved him.

I was collected. I was cool. I was holding strong.

Then as I pulled away and looked at his little puppy dog face
I saw tears well up in his eyes
and with a crack in is quiet voice he said,
"Mommy, I'm scared".

My heart melted
and the whole collected, cool, and holding strong thing
went out the window.

I didn't cry.
I wanted to.
But I didn't.

Will somebody please slap me?

oh, he's sooo cute! My niece started kindergarten this week too. I went with my sis and the fam to drop her off- she was so excited! Her little sister was the one who had the meltdown, it was sad and sweet at the same time! Hope your little guy did ok!

What a little stud. Watch out little girls this one is a looker! I feel so scared for him too. I hope he came home just loving it, just as much as you did. BTW I think it is time for me to get a new camera...I have picture envy!

He is adorable!! I love and hate the first day of kindergarten...Is a bitter sweet moment. What is funny is after that first day I have no problems sending them out the door and singing my hallaluyas..I know thats not how you spell the word, but since I am too lazy to look it up and you know what I am laying down, you just get to deal with it. I love back to school...except this year I could handle a few more weeks of sleeping in and doing nothing and sending my kids outside to ride their bikes or soak up the sun at the pool!!

Oh the bitter sweet 1st day of Kindergarten. I was much better this time around with Brooklyn. However when I saw her holding her brothers hand running out of the school with the BIGGEST smile on her face, the lump in my throat started to Swell.

So cute. He's such a stinkin' cute boy. Can't believe he's already in Kindergarten. 2 down, one to go. :)

So sweet. It's good that even the kids who seem so tough and carefree have their moments of needing mom. Love it. He is soooo cute I could just eat him up.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you what I would have done if I saw Kaleb with tears in his eyes!

I don't like all these back to school posts, nothing against you..they just make me all emotional, and I am not even the one sending my kid to school!! Someone needs to slap ME. :) He is adorable, and I hope his first day was fun and not so scary.

He is so adorable. I would definately have a hard time not crying with him too. But way to be strong. Also CONGRATS on the new house! I bet you are so excited. Anyone who lived at the Colony for 4 years deserves a nice house!!!! Thats awesome! Post more pictures of the inside.
