...the kids are going crazy, Kaleb's being naughty. and I can't yell. They are definitely using this no voice thing to their advantage. This is how the conversations are going in our house today;
Picture this -Kaleb moving the coffee table a good 6 feet away from the couch, then attempts to fly like "super naked man" (I've tried to explain the superman is always fully clothed but he begs to differ). I enter the room and with a feeble attempt yell, "Kaleb stop that right now" instead of yell it was more of an inaudible whisper. "What mom? I can't hear you !" Kaleb taunts as he knows I can't yell and he finds it quite entertaining (payback I'm sure, for making him share his "bone in narrow"). I make another attempt to speak, "do you want a spanking?" (sorry to all the anti-spanker's out there, but I do spank Kaleb every once in a while. You can officially take me off the list of perfect parents if you haven't already done so). Kaleb continued his super hero flying skills, again using this prime opportunity of having a mom with no voice to his advantage. I raise my hand and take a step towards him as to show I mean business. He quickly flies off the couch standing a safe distance away, and shakes his little bum in my face doing the old, "Na, na, na, na,na...you can't get me!". Well, my voice might not be working, but my legs sure do.
After our little dispute we reached an agreement, we was going to listen and be good and I was going to be happy. I return to the kitchen to finish cleaning when again I hear the table being moved and little fit stomping upon it. I turn the corner only to find Macie on the table with Kaleb on the side coaching her on how to get the perfect air. I was able to intervene before Macie took flight.
Honestly, it's hard enough to mother imaginative, energetic, athletic, inventive, crazy kids. But to do it with out a voice...that's a whole other challenge.
I must add though, losing my voice has not been an entirely miserable experience. Abrie this morning said, "Mom don't worry, I'll get my own breakfast this morning...you need to rest". I'm thinking I should milk this for all it worth.

IF you need Greg to come over and use his voice to act for yours, I'm sure he wouldn't mind.
At least your sweet Abrie can balance out the chaos. I think Hayden and Kaleb are pretty similar, I can only imagine what I am in for with two boys! Hope you doing ok, it is not fun at all being sick and having to take care of kids.
okay Gin-Gin! Here we are united now with the blog. Thought I would comment on how funny you are and I loved looking through your blog and reading about life at the Johnson's household. HOpe to see you tonight at the church. Don't yell too hard today okay!
I am pretty sure Margo is as naughty as Kaleb. She is an exhausting child. I cant wait for her to teach Addie how to be naughty. Were you by any chance like that as a child?
All I can do is laugh!
Jessica you don't even need to ask if I was good or not...of course I was an angel. Would you expect anything less?
oh how sad, i'm very sorry you are sick. I also am having a lost voice and a cold and cough. ahhh I must have given it to you when we talked on the phone the other day. Did you get my message? You can ignore that message if you want but, I did want to know the 411 on that subject. I have been very emotional lately so it could all be in my head. Will you let me know cause i've been worried a little.
You are honestly a great writer you should work for a newspaper or somthing. You have a talent for keeping people on the end of there seats its fun. I really think caleb and blake will be best buds. He is constantly calling me names shaking his butt at me. He uses all the potty words he can. (I am also a spanker when i have to be) It feels good to get it out there. I AM A SPANKER. ouhhh good to get that off my chest ha ha
Wait, spanking is bad? WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME?!?!?
