Well, We Made It!

The drive was loooong.
The car managed to stay in one piece.
There were no casualties to be had.
The kids were as good as can be expected.
We all have flat buttocks' from sitting so long.
I had to fight the desire within to motion to passing truck drivers to honk their horns just for fun, reminiscent of long road trips as a child.
I have a new appreciation for truck drivers.
The new appreciation soon left when I found, at a truckers rest stop, a ditch littered with bottles of pee.
I have a deeper gratitude for the beautiful country God created for us, even if 1,500 miles of it all looked the same.
The phrase 'are we there yet?' gets old real fast, which makes me think duct tape should have been first on the list of things to pack.
Emily, our new GPS voice, is my new BFF and the word 'recalculating... recalculating... recalculating..' became all too familiar.
I continue to be grateful for Wendy's dollar menu and their 5 piece chicken nuggets.
I think I've gained at least 20 lbs in the past week, which breaks down to be about 6.57 lbs of weight gain a day. I don't know much, but I'm pretty sure that's not a good thing.
I have a renewed desire to make a home cooked meal. (Don't get your hopes up Nate... it doesn't mean I'll actually cook one. I may have the desire to cook, but I still lack the motivation.)
We could have purchased a small Country with the amount of money we spent in gas and had enough left over to feed the hungry and clothe the naked.
The Welcome to UTAH sign was definitely a welcomed site.
The mountains are just as beautiful as a remember them to be.
I display my Pennsylvania licence plates with pride.
I am torn with how I should respond when people ask me where I am from... I think I will just stick with my usual response and say, "from heaven".

So we are here.
It doesn't feel quite real yet.
Life is in limbo.
We are trying to figure out what's next.
Sometimes I wish life could just figure itself out.
But I'm confident that when life decides to cooperate with us, good things are going to happen.

Thanks so much for all the comments! I'm feelin' the love from the West side and the East side and everywhere in between.

Pictures to come as soon as we get our computer up and running. Get excited for red neck weddings, toes on the dashboard, blown trailer tires, miles and miles of cows and grass...
I'm sure you're just burning with anticipation!

Welcome to Utah! Glad to have you join us!
Oh, and the whole ditch full of pee bottles is just gross!

yeah, one more notch on your belt of being a mommy and wife. Now, you have not only flown alone with three children, but you have also driven cross country. That deserves a "mommy of the year" nomination!!

I am glad you made it there in one piece. I don't think I could have done that drive with my kids......actually I KNOW couldn't have.

how long will you be with your parents? It must bring back the good old days. I think it would be nice for awhile. Any extra help would be nice.

Sooo glad you made it safe... Soooooooo sad I didn't get to say goodbye! If I'd known you were not going to leave until the afternoon I would have come back down to the conoly! I stopped by the night before with Gracee, but you were out to Dinner with Nate's parents. I hope your Dad told you! I miss you tonZ! And I mean it. PA is so lonely now. Just knowing you were in the colony made me feel happy. Sigh. I will be in Utah in August, and you will go to Cafe Rio with me! Its a date! Call me! Luv and miss ya.

So it's just not the same here without your fun little family. The hallway is depressingly quiet and for the first few days after you left, subconsciously, I kept waiting for you to knock on my door. We miss you tons, but we are glad your new lives are now beginning. Good luck!

I'm glad you made it safe and sound. We miss you guys! Why did you name your GPS voice Emily? I need to get one of those.
Be glad you're not here right now, the heat and humidity is killing me!

It is creepy quiet around these parts.

And is there any chance you'd want to do a family photo shoot for a friend of Renn's? You know, since you've OBVIOUSLY had PLENTY of time to recover from the move and now have your life COMPLETELY UNDER CONTROL.....er, right?

I should clarify that it'd be a paying gig. Just let me know.
